ARCH1101 5 Real Time Image Captures

This perspective captures Kuepper's lab underneath the ceiling/platform slab. It emulates her perception of the potential of science to be a long term solution to the current global catalysts. This is displayed through the extension of the platform almost passing through the barrier of rocks which pose the struggle of science to reach those most in need of development.

Hawking's criticism concerning what science values, more so greed rather than the future of the Earth and the human race, is displayed through this image in which knowledge is caged within a box rather than applied for the betterment of the future. The considerable difference in volume between the top square ceiling and the platform in which he will be grounded on to (separated by the 3m slit shown in the image) visualises the heavy consequence of human "greed and stativity."

The two images above display the meeting place for Kuepper and Hawking, where Kuepper's platform acts a ceiling and Hawking's landform ramp acts as the ground for their discussions. This interplay and morphing of prisms to serve two contrasting functions echoes the uncertainty of whether science is a vital key for the Earth's future. But more importantly, the interlocking of the prisms cater for the needs and idiosyncrasies of each client where Kuepper treks to find solutions to current global issues and Hawking ponders about the survival of mankind.

This image visualises the electroliquid aggregation between Kuepper's and Hawking's perspectives in which they recognise the presence of science as a monolithic concept intertwined with existence as well as its potential to save or destroy the human race.

ARCH1101 Playing Around with Perspectives

These experimental perspectives were captured to draw out the essence of the electroliquid aggregation between Kuepper's and Hawking's laboratories which encapsulate their interests and ideas regarding the application of science.

ARCH1101 Erika Kruger Reflection

Erika Kruger’s smooth transition between media and how her stylised vision is communicated in each of the medium has inspired me to embrace experimentation. Up until now, I have been restricted to the ‘clean and crisp’ approach which has limited my creative expression. My linear perception of completing the tasks within the experiments has so far addressed the content generically in terms of significant and distinctive approach, preventing my own creative flair to take part. Comparing where I am now to what I have achieved in the past creatively, I can see that my reluctance to become comfortable with computer-aided design is the main hurdle. In future, I aim to effortlessly translate my drawings into computer 3D models, so that both media embodies my creative vision.

Nicole Kuepper:

Stephen Hawking:
"I am not worried about the future of the universe. The universe will continue whatever happens. But the future of the human race and of life on Earth is much less certain. We are in danger of destroying ourselves by our greed and stativity."
